Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about Cuivra, our handmade brass and copper from Fès, ordering, shipping and hotel projects.
What is Cuivra?
Cuivra is a Moroccan brand of handmade brass and copper pieces, made in Fès (Fez), Morocco, with a partner atelier of more than 20 artisans who shape, hammer and engrave every piece by hand. The range covers bathroom sets, hammam sets, vessel sinks, rain shower columns, Moroccan teapots, serving trays, cooking pots and décor. Cuivra was founded by Mamoune Zerhouni Faiz.
Where can I buy authentic handmade Moroccan brass and copper online?
You can buy directly at cuivra.com. Every piece is handmade in Fès and ships across Morocco, the Gulf (GCC) and internationally.
What metals does Cuivra use?
Two metals. Most of our teapots, trays, tea sets and bathroom pieces are made of yellow copper, which is brass (an alloy of copper and zinc), often with a silver finish. Our cooking pots and some décor pieces are made of red copper, which is pure copper. Every product page states the metal and the finish.
What is the difference between red copper and yellow copper?
Red copper is pure copper: rosy in colour, softer, and it develops a dark natural patina over time. Yellow copper is brass: golden in colour, harder, and holds fine hand-engraving very well. Both are traditional in Moroccan craft; the choice is mostly about colour and use.
Where are Cuivra products made?
All Cuivra pieces are handcrafted in Fès (Fez), Morocco, a city with centuries of metalworking tradition.

What are the best Cuivra products for a bathroom?

Which Moroccan teapot should I choose?
Our teapots are hand-hammered brass with a silver finish. For everyday mint tea, the Chaï and Al Beldi teapots come in 2, 6, 10 and 16 cup sizes. For hosting, the Jawhar, Amira, Rimal and Al Asrar teapots come in 10 and 16 cup sizes, and complete tea sets such as Al Faras, Floura and Al Fekroun include the matching pieces.
Does Cuivra ship internationally?
Yes. Cuivra ships across Morocco, the GCC and internationally. In-stock pieces ship within 1 to 2 business days; made-to-order pieces take longer. Details are on the Shipping Policy page.
What is the return policy?
You have 14 days from receiving your order to return unused items in their original condition, with no reason required.
How do I care for brass and copper?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use. To restore the shine on natural brass or copper, use lemon and salt or a metal polish, then rinse and dry. Copper naturally darkens over time; this patina is normal. Pieces with a silver or gold finish should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a little soapy water only, never with lemon, salt or abrasives.
